Blast Furnace
Acquisition blast-furnaceHow to obtain these rewards
Process your own ore into bars using the Blast Furnace recipes. These are crafting outputs, not random completion loot, and their exact coal requirements are listed with each bar.
What to do
Use the Blast Furnace teleport, fund the coffer and put accepted ore on the conveyor belt. Collect processed bars from the dispenser; the Foreman (NPC 2923) handles under-level-60 access.
Materials or items used
These may include alternative materials or reusable tools. Follow the requirements and individual reward rules for the exact combination.

Requirements and conditions
- Recipe eligibility uses current Smithing level. Players below unboosted Smithing 60 also need paid Foreman access: 2,500 coins for ten minutes in the room; wearing a Ring of charos (a) and using the dialogue reduces that payment to 1,250, while right-click Pay uses the full fee.
- The separate coffer drains 12 coins per game tick in the furnace room, including at Smithing 60 or above. Keep it funded to deposit ore. The dispenser holds 28 bars total across all types; collect bars to free capacity.
- Hot bars require Ice gloves or Smiths' gloves (i). Otherwise cool the dispenser with water before collecting; stored bars are withdrawn up to the requested amount and available inventory capacity.
How rewards are calculated
- Bronze bar: 6.25 base Smithing XP per bar (level 1).
- Iron bar: 12.5 base Smithing XP per bar (level 15).
- Silver bar: 13.7 base Smithing XP per bar (level 20).
- Steel bar: 17.5 base Smithing XP per bar (level 30).
- Gold bar: 22.5 base Smithing XP per bar (level 40).
- Mithril bar: 30 base Smithing XP per bar (level 50).
- Adamantite bar: 37.5 base Smithing XP per bar (level 70).
- Runite bar: 50 base Smithing XP per bar (level 85).
- Goldsmith gauntlets, a Smithing cape, or a worn Max cape apply the gold-bar effect: 56.2 base XP per gold bar. Ordinary gold bars give 22.5 base XP.
- A consumed Smithing catalyst adds another bar's base XP for a coal-using recipe; it does not produce an additional bar. Account experience modifiers can change the final XP.
- With enough Smithing and coal in the furnace, iron ore is reserved for steel rather than silently converted to iron when steel storage is full.
A reward-pool weight is its share within that pool, not your overall chance per completion. Eligibility, pool selection and the listed modifiers still apply.
