Custom boxes, keys and reward chests

See what a container opens into, how key tiers change chest rewards, and when a displayed pool is conditional.

Progression at a glance Guide diagram
  1. 1Find the exact item

Match the opening box or key to its item ID.

  2. 2Read the branch

Distinguish a complete bundle from a weighted alternative.

  3. 3Prepare the inventory

Meet its slot requirement and account restrictions.

  4. 4Open and collect

Follow the source-specific delivery and overflow rules.

Follow the opening action

Search the item catalog for the exact box or key you have. Its related acquisition records show the trigger item, opening interaction and reward pools. This distinguishes owning a box from owning one of its possible contents. Names and actions follow the Aleges cache and its server overrides.

The boxes and activities catalog lists the supported source-derived opening handlers. A listed item may have several sources, such as a monster, a shop and a box. A familiar appearance does not make another item ID interchangeable.

Mystery boxes are not all the same

Many older mystery boxes use weighted tables, opening counters or a first-opening branch. Some also exclude recently received rewards. Their displayed item and pool weights are references to that branch, not universal odds for every player's next box.

The Divine mystery box and Custom pet mystery box instead use explicit uniform arrays. Each successfully consumed box awards one selection from its documented pool. They check delivery and restore the box if the reward cannot be delivered.

The ordinary Pet mystery box has different rules: it checks the active follower, inventory and bank, then selects from eligible pet entries not currently owned. If there are no candidates, it keeps the box. Do not use the Custom pet box's fixed pool size to estimate the ordinary pet box.

Packages can grant several rewards

The promotion package requires nine free slots. It rolls three rewards from its normal/incentive branch and three from its Super-box pool, then adds three guaranteed items. A guaranteed addition is shown separately from the weighted pools.

Small, Normal and Ultra bundles grant their complete listed contents. Their handlers require six, ten and sixteen free slots respectively. Read the actual bundle page before opening: a row in a complete bundle is a guaranteed member, while a row in a weighted pool is an alternative.

Crystal and Slayer keys

The Crystal chest grants a coin roll plus one selected tier. Rune-bundle tiers grant all the runes in that bundle; ordinary tiers select one item. The Enhanced crystal chest has its own amounts and additional potion/gem bundles. Rare-tier checks run in order, so a later check is reached only when earlier checks fail.

Full dragonstone armour checks its key-preservation roll first. The donation-rank check follows only if that fails. Donation total also controls how many Crystal keys can be processed in a click. These benefits do not remove Ultimate Ironman banking restrictions.

The Slayer chest has tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4 pages. Each grants coins, an ordinary tier selection and a possible additional rare reward. Tier 4 also checks a separate boss pool. Carrying several tiers makes the chest choose the highest available key first.

Other chests keep their own rules

The Brimstone chest has a Fishing-level-dependent fish branch. Larran's chest selects from its active dedicated loot table. The Moon-key chest grants 250 sunfire splinters plus one selected reward. The Grubby chest chooses a rare item or a whole ordinary bundle.

Leave room and check the delivery notes. Inventory overflow, banking and ground delivery are handled by each source, so one chest's behavior should not be assumed for another.
